Modders turned the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB D5 Memory DDR5 modules into a brand-new masterpiece and fully showed their remarkable modding, handcrafting, organization skills, and ingenious creativity. All the mods are amazing, and it was challenging for the public and the judges to select the winners. Thermaltake sincerely appreciates all the modders bringing Thermaltake’s ram modules to a whole new level.

As 2023 Thermaltake RAM MOD Invitational Season 1 comes to an end, Thermaltake would like to express their gratitude to all the participants, including the public and modding enthusiasts. Last but not least, let’s congratulate the top three winners, and hope to see you all at the upcoming events in the near future!

Meet the Winners
❒ 1st Place [Toru Sekiguchi]: The ram modding “KIMONO” fully shows the beauty and elegance of Japanese culture. Through Toru’s outstanding handcraft and using traditional materials, he made the ram design tied in with kimonos in a washitsu (a room where kimonos are displayed). The exquisite details of his design impressed the judges and won as champion.

2nd Place [Derek Wilson]: Derek modded the TOUGHRAM XG RGB D5 with wood panels and showed his creativity to make a bar with these rams. Matched with wood-carved tables and figures, successfully created a lively bar with textured wood decoration. Fully demonstrated his organizing skill for the whole project.

❒ 3rd Place [Jesse Tiongson]: “TOUGH RAMP” is a skateboard ramp built by TOUGHRAM, laminated sheets, and some ram slots. Jesse added laser engraving on his modding and made it in more street style. With a small skateboard, the TOUGH RAMP becomes a fun project where everyone can enjoy finger skating.

Mark of Perfection
The entries were all top quality and demonstrated their outstanding modding skills. Hence, it was not easy for the panel of judges to select the winners. The judges were required to evaluate and score on four criteria, including Originality, Design Concept, Final Photos, and Video Quality. The total percentage of the score allocated to the community voting was 30%, 15% by Thermaltake Judges, 25% by Thermaltake CEO, and 30% by professional modders. After summing up the votes from the judges, the final result pointed to Toru Sekiguchi, Derek Wilson, and Jesse Tiongson.

Event Review
Within a month, six contestants from Canada, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Sweden modified our TOUGHRAM XG RGB D5 Memory DDR5 modules to their own design. Participating modders were given a specific time frame to modify the RAM heatsinks, without changing the overall appearance and layout of the RAM itself. Contestants could only use our TOUGHRAM XG RGB D5 Memory DDR5 modules and were not allowed to add the ram to a motherboard or a PC build though they could create a stand or platform for the modules, but the overall modules must remain intact with the original design as the main focus.
